The Hands Of Christ

Text Box: During World War II, a church building in Strasbourg was destroyed. After the bombing, the members surveyed the area to see what damage was done. They were pleased that a statue of Christ with outstretched hands was still standing.
They were happy because the treasured statue had been sculpted centuries before by a great artist.
However, upon taking a closer look, the people discovered both hands of Christ had been sheared off by a falling beam. Later, a sculptor in the town offered to replace the broken hands as a gift to the church. The church leaders met to consider the offer and decided not to accept it. They felt the statue without hands would be a great illustration that God's work is done through his people.

but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
                                                            Ephesians 4:15-16
In a very real sense, you, I and all other Christians are the hands of Jesus on the earth. While He’s in Heaven working for us, we’re on the earth working for Him. As He advocates for us before God, we advocate for Him before men.  What do you want to be accomplished for Christ ?  Whatever your goal for God, He is depending upon your hands to bring it to fruition, but you’re not alone, He has placed you in His church to work together with all His other hands and He provides the power.       Eph. 3: 20, Phil 4:13
