In a horse-pulling contest at a county fair the first-place horse moved a sled weighing 4,500 pounds. The runner-up pulled 4,000 pounds. The owners of the two horses wondered how much the animals could pull if they worked together. So they hitched them up and loaded the sled. To everyones surprise, the horses were able to pull 12,000 pounds.

Sometimes in the Lords work we try to pull the weight of a job all by ourselves. However, when we team up with others we work with greater efficiency and can accomplish so much more.

I am reminded of Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. 10  For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. 11   Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart."                                                                                                                                      T. Moore

There’s a lot  we can do for the Lord here in Shelbyville if we’ll but apply this principle of scripture while together putting our shoulders to the proverbial plow.  We serve a magnificent Lord who will work through us if we will but trust Him and serve him with all our might.  Two plus God is an unstoppable force.  God has no limitations.   w
