Righteousness Upholds A Nation
“It is
the duty of nations, as well as of men, to owe their
dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess
their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with
assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy
and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth,
announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all
history, that those nations only are blessed whose God
is the Lord....” -
Abraham Lincoln, 1863.
If our nation and our national leaders would have more
of this type of attitude - perhaps we could get back
to the attitude minted on our currency
–
“In
God We Trust.”
Even in the Pledge of Allegiance, that our youth
memorize early in life, is the phrase “...one
nation under God.”
We all need to do our part in getting God back into our
nation. We need to stand up and be heard. We need to
fight for morality and righteousness. Remember, the
squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Solomon wrote,
“Righteousness
exalts a nation; But sin is a reproach to any people.”

Pro. 14:34
